Features
The Hum-Cancelling P-90 with Alnico Rods is the perfect pickup for a cleaner, more articulate P-90 pickup. It has an airiness and sparkle not found with adjustable pole pieces. It’s also great for those looking to balance a dark guitar. You’ll find that this pickup stays clean while still having a fat, beefy midrange and thickness commonly found with P-90 pickups.
While we refer to this pickup as a P-90, it’s not a traditional P-90. Traditional P-90s are known for their snarly midrange and stiffer top end. The Hum-Cancelling P-90 with Alnico Rods pickup, on the other hand, offers a softer, cleaner sound with the familiar ‘sparkle’. This pickup is available in all our Soapbar and Dogear versions, offering a unique alternative to traditional P-90s.

Sound & Video
The Alnico Noiseless P-90 will sound like a regular P-90, but with a familiar Fender sparkle on the top-end. Clean and articulate when playing without distortion. You’ll find that the nuances of your playing will come out as this pickup “breathes” more than it’s compressed P-90 counterpart. With distortion, you’ll find a smooth, late breakup with a familiar Fender Strat-type tone. Expect a clear pick attack and a warmer midrange.
This midrange of this pickup is pronounced as well. You’ll find that the Alnico Noiseless P-90 will still sound fat and beefy!

If you're buying a set from us, all pickups will work together seamlessly. If you're buying a single pickup, all you need to worry about is Coil Direction.
To ensure your pickup will work, make sure you select multiple leads (2-Conductor, 3-Conductor, or 4-Conductor if available), or the 3-Wire modification so you can reverse the coil direction, if need be.

Calculate what shims you need!
- Select your cover height. Most cover heights are either 1/4" (Short Dogear) or 7/16" (Standard Dogear).
- Depress the Low E string at the highest fret
- With the Low E depressed, measure from the bottom of your pickup to the bottom of the string
- Input that measurement into the "String Height" box, and calculate!
Note: Shims are stackable and sandable. It's good practice to get more shim than you need, then sand it down to meet your measurement.

Stock wind bridge hum cancelling P90 with alnico rods is in a ’55 Les Paul Custom RI (solid mahogany body, no maple cap).
After snugging it up close to the strings it delivers what I’m after to match a TV Dynasonic (T-Armond) neck pickup. I had to reverse the polarity of the Dynasonic to phase with this humbucking P90. Even with that sorted out, the middle pickup selector position is rather low-output, but clear sounding. The pickup is bright and the tone pot can ride usefully at 2~5, for the most part~ though I don’t have any problem diming the tone knob running various vintage Fender amps 20~80w. I don’t find overdrive pedals a requirement foir my playing.
Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 with Alnico Rods is a full frequency, full fidelity pickup with plenty of P90 punch and girth— the amp breakup is smooth and satisfying, so it’s definitely a winner, with this review being submitted after over a year in this guitar.

Older retired guy. Had lots of guitars in my life. Vintage 50’s Gibsons, Fender, Suhr, Mcinturff. Put one of these in the neck of a Fender Noventa and regular hum cancelling in bridge. WoW. Killer unique jazz, blues /anything tone out of the neck and that amazing crunch with a tad of OD in bridge. Bought the Noventa Used at GC, stock PU’s were good but I’m in a different place tone wise with these. Have less than a grand into an axe that sounds like it cost three times that.Highly recommend these , as well as all of Lindys pickup as I’ve had Vintage hots and Blues specials in strats and teles with great results.

Installed on an Epiphone Casino and they’re nothing short of outstanding. Compared to the stock Epi P90s, these are cleaner, fuller, warmer and sonically so much better that the Casino sounds like a completely different guitar. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with the folks at Fralin and the end result of the pick-up swap. It’s a new guitar once again!

These P90 hum-cancelling pick ups were installed in my Casino. They are nothing short of amazing. The tone and articulation of these pickups have made this my new go-to guitar. It sounds great live or recorded and no hum.
The neck pickup cover is slanted just like the original pickup and they both drop in perfectly with no alterations. Don’t hesitate to upgrade your Casio. With these outstanding pickups. -
Just got my AlNiCo Hum-Cancelling P90 pickup today and installed it, and it’s just what the doctor ordered! It lives between a 5% underwound neck position Hum-Cancelling P90 and a standard Hum-Cancelling P90 at the bridge. This gives the “notch” positions on the five-way lever switch all the ducky clucky quacky Stratty flavor that I wanted in those positions, replacing a 5% underwound middle Hum-Cancelling P90. Now I have the recently-removed Hum-Cancelling P90 neck pickup for an upcoming guitar build project…. As Captain Barbossa said in the POTC movie, “Waste not!” 🙂

Just installed a set of Lindy’s P90s dog ear hum canceling pickups with Alnico rods in my 2022 MIC Epiphone Casino. I have customized a couple of my strats with Seymour Duncan pups over the years and probably would have purchased SD Antiquity p90s had they been noiseless and available in chrome cover. So glad they didn’t!!! After extensive research to find exactly what I was looking for, I ordered from Lindy and am blown away by the transformation to an inexpensive import guitar. The sound and response is stellar and my Casino in now silent ( previous hum was killing me). I’m sold on Fralin pickups and will be using them on future builds and swap outs. Yes another five star and well deserved! I have been making electrics including the necks since the early 1980’s . I worked at Charvel San Dimas before Jackson . I have used many pickups including my own mfg and these hum canceling soap bar pickups are some of the best ever made ! If you need P-90 pickups these are the ones to get for no noise and beautiful musical tone !

I put these in a cheap Fender Bullet Strat and it is now my go to Ax! I absolutely love these pickups. P90 looks with Fender sparkle is right. These aren’t as dark as a vintage P90 but they have that P90 growl I like. They also clean up excellently and keep that Fender sparkle which is why I purchased them.

Lindy custom made these for me. I wanted a ” Rickenbacker toaster tone” and put them in a Collings 290DC that I do not use much. Guess what…..I played a video of a 325 Rick and then plugged in my “Single coil – hum- cancelling” Collings and VERY CLOSE. I was surprised. I did not think it would get that close. Solid mahogany body vs. a hollow alder I had my doubts but I gave Lindy all my information, specs. pictures and tone I wanted and Lindy as usual made custom pickups that were exactly what I asked for. All I can say is THANK YOU and I will always be back when I need your magical services. Thank you Lindy and company.

I love these pickups! The cleans are beautiful, with lots of top-end sparkle and chime, and incredible clarity and definition — you really hear every single note in a chord. The dirty tones are nice and thick, but without the compression and grind you sometimes get on modern-sounding P90s, and without losing that incredible articulation. I put these in a Mustang and it instantly became my favorite guitar.

These Alnico P90s are a real blast. Same kickin’ out put as a typical P90. But a way brighter sound. Between the volume knob and a tone pot, you can get a lot of sounds from these pickups. The noiseless are dead quiet. Fralin makes top notch stuff!!!! I’m super happy, as usual!

Everything I had hoped for! Quiet! A tad brighter than I was expecting (but nothing a trusty tone knob can’t remedy). The noise canceling is legit and as promised, but while truly maintaining the P90 mojo. Will put them in any p90 guitar I get. And awesome customer service helping my luthier get them fitted.

I recently completed a Warmoth build and installed a pair of Lindy’s Noiseless Alnico Rod P-90s in it. Chambered mahogany body. The Alnico Rod pickups really deliver a wonderful tone in all 3 positions. Neck – Middle – Bridge. All totally useful sounds. these pickups are more open and airy than the stock P-90s, which are a tad dark for my purposes. I had the bridge pickup 5% over wound. Very happy camper here. Get a great cranked sound with my drive pedals too.
