There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.
Speaking of versatility, are you looking for a jazzier tone? We can use Alnico 6 Magnets to taper the highs even more and offer you a softer sound. Are you searching for a cleaner and more Fender sparkle? Check out our Alnico Rod Version that features Alnico Rods for a Fender-type sparkle.
Our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control.
Listen to our friend Mike Hermans play our Hum Cancelling P90, only in a soapbar format.
Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.
The phase of this pickup is reversible with 2-Conductor With Shield lead.

I am looking to get a noiseless dogear set for my Epiphone Casino. I was thinking short neck (5% underwound)/standard bridge (5% overwound). Would this work for a balanced set? Also, do you also recommend a shim for the bridge to bring it closer to the strings?

Hey Dan, if you purchase a "Stock" set, the neck is already -10% from the bridge, and is very balanced. Any additional underwinding / overwinding will throw this a bit out of balance. For example, if you overwind the bridge, I recommend overwinding the Neck as well to keep things in balance. I absolutely recommend checking your pickup height at the bridge and determine if you need a shim. Read more

Q is there a left hand orientation?A
Hey Tom, this pickup can be rotated in the guitar. Just make sure the "D" pole is the highest pole. On Left-Handed guitars, the pickups' lead should come out of the treble side (under the high E string). - Tyler
What's your opinion on 250k pots vs. 500k pots for p90's? I'm having a harness made, and they say 500k pots are the ones to use. I want to put the hum cancelling soapbars on a new Melody Maker E1, w. 43mm nut width, so I assume standard sizing. If the bridge spacing is 52.5 then is the soapbox pole distance still 52 or 50?

Hey Steve, this is a good question. I'm not sure how your guitar is routed , or what's underneath the pickups. Traditionally, soapbars are mounted directly into a piece of wood under the pickup, screwed into the body. We also have a "Pickguard Mount" for the Soapbar. Lastly, if Humbuckers will work for this guitar, we have this model in a Humbucker housing...Read more

You can do this, but you have to select a Complete Set first, add that to cart, then add another Neck pickup to cart. Leave us a note on the Checkout Screen to let us know that this is a 3-pickup guitar. Thank you. - Tyler

Hey Greg, it is quite confusing. We make our pickups the same way - with the lead coming out of the Treble side. On Les Pauls and the like, sometimes the pickup needs to be turned around and the lead comes out of the bass side. It's fine either way, just check the pole piece stagger - we pre-set the stagger, and if the pickup needs to be turned around, you might need to adjust it a bit.

Hey Christophe, you can certainly use our 5% underwind to achive a lower-output, cleaner tone on our Hum Cancelling P90s. As far as magnets go, we have Neodymium, which we feel gives the most traditional P90 tone. We also offer Alnico 6, which gives a much softer and jazzier tone.
