There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.
Speaking of versatility, are you looking for a jazzier tone? We can use Alnico 6 Magnets to taper the highs even more and offer you a softer sound. Are you searching for a cleaner and more Fender sparkle? Check out our Alnico Rod Version that features Alnico Rods for a Fender-type sparkle.
Our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control.
Listen to our friend Mike Hermans play our Hum Cancelling P90, only in a soapbar format.
Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

Hey Guillermo, you need the following options:
- Type: Short Dogear
- Cover color of choice
- Lead Type: Gibson Braided Lead
You shouldn't need to modify any other parts of the guitar to make these work. They will be drop-in replacements. That said, check our measurements of our new pickups against your old pickups - they will certainly be different.

Hey Noah, if you have the Soapbar mounting ring on your Mini Humbucker, our soapbar will fit just fine - it's a standard Gibson-sized Soapbar.

Q How would I match a bridge tele pickup with a hum canceling p90 if the ohm readings are so high?A
Hey Evan, don't use the Ohm Readings on this pickup as it's a unique design and therefore, ohm readings are useless. I recommend either our High Output Tele or our Blues Output Split Blade

Hey Bob, if your pickups are too bright on 500K, we recommend a 300K to darken it up a bit. Then, we can recommend 0.047mfd as a cap value to provide even more of a sweep.

Reviews we worked hard for, and are proud of.
I ordered two sets P90 Dogears. 5% overwound for bridge positions and just the regular winding for neck. Hum cancelling is awesome! Have one set installed and they are excellent.
Hope to have the others in another 330 soon. Might be a bit more expensive than some others however quality and sound, tone is amazing. Hope to get some humbuckers this year for my 335’s.
Thank you again for the great pups! DWC, The Guitarmon!
Just wish I knew about these sooner. Have one overwound in my LP jr and a pair in a Guild TBird. Sound amazing and are quiet.
Love these pickups. Lindy Fralin you are a wizard!
To Lindy and the team,
I completed my first guitar build on a ‘partscaster’; swamp ash body and roasted maple neck with a Bigsby tailpiece. I used your Dynasonic, P90 and split blade Telecaster pickups. I replaced the tone control with a blender pot for the bridge and neck pickups. I couldn’t be happier. I have 3 distinct sounds from each pickup that are all loud and clear. I am using a handmade 5E3 clone amp and the tone is the best of all my guitars with the new Fralin pickups. Lindy thanks for your help selecting the pickups and with some follow questions during installation. I am still tweaking the pickup height adjustments to get equal volume and max tone. I will be recommending your products.
To Lindy, Tyler, and the kind staff at Lindy Fralin pickups,
I recently purchased a Quiet P-90 for my lap steel guitar, and honestly can say that I have, after a 10 yr quest for the “right” sounding pickup, can say that my journey is over. This is quite possibly the best-sounding pickup I have ever personally owned. This pickup is a perfect match for my lap steel which is made of 1 piece of solid west African Khaya wood, which is a very beautiful warm-sounding tonewood, however, the pickup was crucial to get the right balance between mid-range “growl” and brightness to counteract the warmth of the Khaya wood. I can not say enough about how great this pickup sounds, and am extremely grateful to all, this is one amazing pickup!
I had a Fralin hum-canceling P90 installed in the neck position of a Ron Thorn G/T several years ago but neglected to write a review (I’m about to order another for an LP Special I just found.). This pickup has been exactly what I’ve been looking for over years, and it has been just great–wonderful tone whether clean or overdriven & I love the innovative design. I’ve tried a number of “no noise” P90-type pickups from very, very well-respected builders without being completely satisfied, but the Fralin Hum-Canceling P90 is by far the best of its type I’ve ever tried.
Today I installed your P90 hum-canceling on one of the guitars. I work in a guitar workshop and have heard a lot of different pickups. But yours is something special! Most of all, I appreciate in the pickup the ability to respond to the dynamics of sound extraction and volume control. Even with very strong distortion, I can achieve a clear sound, or a crunch, only by turning the knob to a different position.
Despite the snow outside the window, the mood was quite spring 🙂
I want to thank you for your undoubted engineering and musical luck and wish you further success and development of your business!
Best regards! Grigory, Moscow, Russia
Replaced a Gibson P90 on a SG Junior Reissue with a %5 over wound Lindy Fralin noiseless P90. WOW! I absolutely love this pickup! Lots of growl like expected from a P90 but without the 60 Hz hum. Not muddy nor ice picky either. Really nice articulate P90 that responds to dynamic playing and the volume and tone knobs. Highly recommend this pickup!
Replaced the 9k P90 in my Epiphone Coronet with a 5% overwound noiseless P90 from Lindy. Wow, this thing just honks. Fat, greasy tones, has me unleashing my inner Leslie West! Plus no 60 cycle noise!!!
Sounds like a P90 without the hum. Output seems very slightly down compared to single-coil P90 but it’s not a problem. I love it.
