Features
The Hum-Cancelling P-90 with Alnico Rods is the perfect pickup for a cleaner, more articulate P-90 pickup. It has an airiness and sparkle not found with adjustable pole pieces. It’s also great for those looking to balance a dark guitar. You’ll find that this pickup stays clean while still having a fat, beefy midrange and thickness commonly found with P-90 pickups.
While we refer to this pickup as a P-90, it’s not a traditional P-90. Traditional P-90s are known for their snarly midrange and stiffer top end. The Hum-Cancelling P-90 with Alnico Rods pickup, on the other hand, offers a softer, cleaner sound with the familiar ‘sparkle’. This pickup is available in all our Soapbar and Dogear versions, offering a unique alternative to traditional P-90s.

Sound & Video
The Alnico Noiseless P-90 will sound like a regular P-90, but with a familiar Fender sparkle on the top-end. Clean and articulate when playing without distortion. You’ll find that the nuances of your playing will come out as this pickup “breathes” more than it’s compressed P-90 counterpart. With distortion, you’ll find a smooth, late breakup with a familiar Fender Strat-type tone. Expect a clear pick attack and a warmer midrange.
This midrange of this pickup is pronounced as well. You’ll find that the Alnico Noiseless P-90 will still sound fat and beefy!

If you're buying a set from us, all pickups will work together seamlessly. If you're buying a single pickup, all you need to worry about is Coil Direction.
To ensure your pickup will work, make sure you select multiple leads (2-Conductor, 3-Conductor, or 4-Conductor if available), or the 3-Wire modification so you can reverse the coil direction, if need be.

Calculate what shims you need!
- Select your cover height. Most cover heights are either 1/4" (Short Dogear) or 7/16" (Standard Dogear).
- Depress the Low E string at the highest fret
- With the Low E depressed, measure from the bottom of your pickup to the bottom of the string
- Input that measurement into the "String Height" box, and calculate!
Note: Shims are stackable and sandable. It's good practice to get more shim than you need, then sand it down to meet your measurement.

Excellent Pickups
Tried so many noiseless adaptations. They were all ok but these are the first true vintage without the noise pickups I’ve got a hold of. Have them in a MIJ Epiphone LP Jr with nitro and it sings with detailed clarity and no noise. The House of worship I attend is a bit on the noisy/ dirty sound side. This cleaned up all the buzzing live every Sunday. I don’t have to ride the volume knob unless its for tone now. Killer pickups. Thanks, Lindy

Wow – my Les Paul Junior wasn’t bad with the stock Gibson P90 but it was noisy and just a little thin on midrange. But with the Lindy Fralin Hum-cancelling P90 it has that beautiful snarl with gain and cleans up beautifully without. Lots of tone and no hum. This is now my go-to guitar.

Purchased a new Gibson Les Paul Special TV Yellow 2019 model. Loved everything about this guitar except the Neck pickup. It was very dark and “moody” sounding. Tried making height adjustments but couldn’t get it to sound right. Decided to order a replacement Neck pickup. Initially went with the Seymour Duncan Antiquity but after installation it was out of phase, gladly the dealer took it back. I decided to call in Fralin Pickups for some guidance, I spoke to a Tyler and described what I was looking for; a more open sounding Neck pickup with nice sparkle, he suggested the Hum-Cancelling P90 with Alnico Rods. Upon installation I notice it was out of phase once again but then I just swapped the leads and voila! Exactly what I was looking for, sounds just like single coil with no hum. LOVE IT! I cannot recommend this pickup enough for the Neck position, it is just incredible. I’m extremely satisfied with the pickup and the customer service from Tyler.

These sound sooo good. Theres those noiseless P90s that lose the sparkle of the P90 because they’re essentially humbuckers, but these, especially with the alnico rods in, sound so crisp and exactly what I wanted. They are handwired so you know youre getting quality. AND I had a bit of a microphonic issue bc I ordered a nickel cover with it (thats gonna happen with any pickup with a nickel cover) so LINDY FRALIN himself called me to help me sort it out and within a half hour everything was right as rain. He even said if it didnt work out he would personally rewind it himself. Thats called pride in your craftsmanship. Excellent. -
Hum Cancelling P-90:
If you’ve ever had issues with “taming” a P-90 pickup in a live setting, you need to try this Fralin pickup. I was amazed at how quiet it was in a live setting but more pleased with the sound quality. This pickup has classic P-90 growl, cleans up excellently with a twist of the volume knob and most of all maintains clarity with both settings. I highly recommend any of my P-90 brothers and sisters give this a whirl! -

I have a Fender Tele with a P90 in the Neck and Tele PU in the bridge but wasn’t pleased with the stock PU’s. After a lot of comparisons and research, I called Lindy for advice on what I was after and I ended up with the Alnico rod P90 and a hot output tele PU. I couldn’t have been more happy; the bridge was clear and powerful, with some girth, and the neck was fat and clear with that Fender chime. Lindy definitely knows tone!

I think your website description of this pickup is perfect. It does have more “Fender cleans”. With all the sparkle no one would ever know that it wasn’t single-coil except for the lack of hum. It sounds fabulous in my new Stonetree Roscoe Deluxe. Thank you so much. -

P-90 Tele neck pickup replacement.
What if you wanted the clarity and chime of a standard Tele neck single coil with some additional gain and beefy mids? Well this pickup is that and more. Matched with the Blues Special bridge pickup, the setting with both pickups on is a real bonus with the P-90. By itself, it can go from Grant Green to Peter Green with a twist of the volume or tone control. I imagine the pole magnets instead of screw polepieces might have contributed to the perfectly balanced EQ and range. Seriously thinking of replacing a couple of humbuckers with this pickup. -
Hits the mark every time. I fit these into my SG Classic and a LPDC Special. Now I have the tone and expression I want without having to focus on 60 hz hum. I’ve got enough to manage during the sets.

Unbelievable pickup! Typical P90 felt a little dark and heavy in the mids, and almost too different from the tele bridge where the guitar lost it’s identity a bit. I talked with Lindy and he helped me figure out what I was looking for. This is really more of a beefy single coil with P90 character. Nice mids, not as angry as a typical P90, but just an incredible high end. The aggression and brightness is so touch sensitive, I can get just about as much brightness as I want using the right attack or really tame it. It’s kind of it’s own thing, I’m in love. Both my neck and middle positions are so much fun to play now, feels like my guitar just became 3 in 1, very versatile pickup. If you’re someone who wants that 100% P90 character, grit, mid aggression it might not be for you, but if you’re someone who wants P90 flavor but misses the high end and ALSO doesn’t like the noise of a P90, this is it!!! Stop your research and get this in your guitar.
