Sound
The Alnico Noiseless P90 Humbucker is the perfect pickup for those looking for a cleaner, more articulate tone in a Humbucker Cover. Even though we call it a P90, it’s not quite a P90: it has an airiness and sparkle not found with adjustable pole pieces. Also, it’s great for those looking to balance a dark guitar. You’ll find that this pickup stays clean, while still having a fat, beefy midrange and thickness commonly found with P90 pickups.
The Alnico Noiseless P90 Humbucker will not sound like a traditional P90, but one with a familiar Fender sparkle on the top-end. Clean and articulate when playing without distortion. You’ll find that the nuances of your playing will come out as this pickup “breathes” more than it’s compressed P90 counterpart. Chords have an excellent string-to-string definition, and single notes are round and warm. With distortion, you’ll find a breakup that is late and smooth with a familiar Fender Strat-type tone.
Our Alnico Noiseless P90 Humbucker features a pronounced midrange as well. You’ll find that the Alnico Hum-Cancelling P90 Humbucker will still sound fat and warm. The midrange is softer than a P90, but this pickup is fatter and warmer than our Big Single and Twangmaster.
Are you looking for more of a traditional P90 tone? You won’t find that here. This model features a more “Fender” quality to it. If you’re looking for a traditional P90 tone, check out our P90 and Hum Cancelling P90!

I have a Les Paul standard and usually play in the middle position. How well would an alnico rod in the neck and a P90 noiseless in the bridge pair together?

Hey Tolu, they would pair together nicely! We overwind the Neck a bit more in this case to help them pair. Let us know in the Notes field on the checkout screen that both pickups are going together and we'll adjust the winding accordingly.
Hi, I purchased a set of Alnico noiseless P90 pups for my tele with a 52mm bridge pup. I wired it just like your diagram, before I even looked on your site to rectify my problem. The problem is it is acting like I reversed the polarity on one pup. "I didn't" unless it's wired wrong at the pup itself as the Black and braided leads are to ground and the white wires to the 3way switch. I have been playing, working and building guitars for 40+ years ...

Hey Jack, give us a call today at your convenience so we can talk through troubleshooting the pickup. I fear that there's a short in the Bridge pickup. If you have an ohm reader, please take a reading of the bridge pickup - it should read around 10K. If it reads close to half of that, we have a warranty that will cover the defective pickup.
Do these work fine as just a bridge pickup guitar, or do they have to be as a set?

Hey Hollie, you can certainly purchase the Bridge model only. We recommend selecting 2-Conductor lead just in case you need to reverse the phase down the road. - Tyler
Hi ! Just a question out of curiosity : I just noticed that on the set I received the magnets under the D string are beveled whereas the others are not, what is the reason/purpose to that ?

Hey Christophe, the beveled D is just how we designed the pickup for optimal tone and looks. Also, Lindy always likes to bevel a magnet the taller it gets.
What do you think about putting the alnico noiseless p90 in the neck position of a michael tuttle classic s HSH ? I’m looking for more character and classic strat neck tone versus the original humbucker which is kind of dark and muddy.

Alnico Rod P-90
Fabulous sounding pickup for the neck slot of my home brew hybrid Tele. Exactly what I was looking for–great clarity plus a full, sweet tone. Highest recommendation.
The tone you can count on
This is the second one of these I bought but the first time I’ve gotten it in the humbucker size. It’s plainly and simply a fat beefy single coil without the high-end loss attribute to such style pickups. It’s pretty much always on for me. I added a Gilmour switch to turn this on in the neck regardless of where the 5-way switch is. Just in case I wanna add the neck at any given moment and for that breathtaking bridge/neck combo you never get in a strat. Fralin noiseless p-90 is where my p90 search ends. I don’t care to know what else is out there anymore.
Pickups are great and exceed my expectations. thank you very much. I will keep it forever!
Big tone, no noise!
Installed this in the middle position on a Les Paul Custom. It was an excellent choice. Big, clean, and clear single-coil tone to contrast the humbuckers in the neck and bridge. And best of all no noise!
Put one of these at my Strat neck position. I have split blade blues I’m the middle. Works really well. The Alnico P90 is warm & bright with excellent, note separation.
Absolutely stunning clarity and presence! Great with my overdrive pedals, very responsive to the tone control, works well with the bridge pickup – a Rio Grande Greasegunner. Together with the Fralin mini humbucker (alnico 5) my favourite neck pickup!
Smooth and sweet! My guitar guru, Al Milburn, suggested that I contact Fralin Pickups to purchase a replacement for the neck pickup in my Yamaha Pacifica. I called and got to speak with Linday Fralin himself, who was very friendly and directed me to the appropriate section of pickups on the website so I could listen to the sound clips and make a choice. The Alnico Noiseless P90 sounded best so I ordered one and had Al install it. It’s a great pickup with a smooth and sweet sound. The pickup sounds wonderful by itself and also in combination with the bridge pickup. I’ve played several gigs with the Yamaha (left my Tele and the single-coil hum and buzz at home) and received compliments from my bandmates and audience members on how good it sounds.
Get big, lovely, single coil tone with no noise!
Superb clarity, bright and glassy but still classy.
It’s higher output than your average single coil, so keep that in mind. If you’re looking for that rich, high output single coil tone with no noise, I highly recommend it! If you want something that will pull an edge-of-breakup amp back down off the ledge (without adjusting your volume knob), you can drop the pickup height (like I did) or possibly look at the lower output options like the Sunbucker.
My friends are very impressed with the sound of the P90; one said he may have to buy a pair. They are truly noiseless & yet have that fenderish brightness.
