Is your Lead Time of 3-4 Weeks accurate?
It really depends on the shop capacity at the moment, and the size of your order. Feel free to give us a call for an accurate lead time. We always try to underpromise and overdeliver.

What pickup height do you recommend setting your P90s to?
Our recommended Pickup Height is 1/8" (3.175mm) on the Bass Side and 1/16"( 1.5875mm) on the Treble Side. Measure by holding the corresponding side down at its highest fret and measure from the bottom of the string to the top of the pole piece.

Tremendous tone on these pickups. I put these in 2003 Epiphone Casino that already had custom pickups installed in it from another manufacturer. I had these underwound by 5% because there are so many other ways to add gain and adjust EQ but you can’t create something that isn’t there in the first place. Awesome clarity and definition and really nails the 50s/60s sound that I was going for. Thanks for making a great pickup!

I purchased a stock wound P90 Soapbar set for my new Gibson Les Paul Special at the beginning of January. I received them as promised on time. I procrastinated installing the new pup’s because I believed the stock ones were pretty good. Finally, after two months I decided it was about time to get these new pickup’s installed and hear what this guitar was capable of. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked the sound or not, these pickups are much clearer than the stock pup’s. When played at the same level, the hashy sound was gone. Clear, round, warm tone I wasn’t accustomed to with this guitar, was now what I was hearing. Turn the volume up on the guitar, and the amp breaks up nicely with articulation, grit & growl. I’m very satisfied with my purchase, these pickups truly transformed my LP Special into a better instrument than than I expected.

Very pleased with the new P90. I replaced the stock P90 from a Les Paul Jr 2015 and it swapped out like a dream. Easy. The pickup has a fuller, cleaner sound and makes the guitar a more responsive instrument all around. I have done many modifications to the guitar and this was the final one, so now it’s time to really play it! Customer service/support was excellent and immediately responsive to my questions about windings and matching responses. Many thanks.

I am liking these Fralin P90s much more than the stock ones that came with my LP Special. They run the whole tonal gamut of clean, articulate, and warm to compressed crankiness. By contrast, the ones that came with the guitar were a bit sterile and nondescript. This is the fifth set of Fralins I’ve installed on various guitars in my humble collection. Highly recommended!!

These easily outshine the stock pups that I had in my SG special! I placed these a neck and an overwound bridge in LP Double cut build and glory is the only word that comes to mind! First, I am a huge fan of ALNICO IV magnets and am happy to see them used in this style of pickup…super rare. For me, it’s a pickup that is always waiting to be unleashed. Yes, they clean up smoothly with a great snap, especially the bridge; but when you dig in that’s where they really shine! The note-to-note clarity is spectacular with an overdriven tone! NO muddiness and I even found them pretty quiet if you shield the cavities etc.

Fralin is the best. period. As a builder and former tech I’ve used a lot of different stuff out there and nothing matches the quality.

This is easily the best sounding P90 I’ve heard. Very wide range with a nice, full bottom end. It really compliments a single pickup guitar like my SG Junior.

I loaded a set of Fralin dogear P90s in to my Epiphone Casino, and along with news wiring, it really changed the guitar. It’s amazing how these pickups tranformed this guitar. It sounds big and full now, and it jangles a little and gets very rock ‘n roll when pushing the amp. And the fit was perfect on the guitar, no issues with install. Highly recommend. Makes your $400 Casino sound like a $3000 beast.

I am highly pleased with the buying experience and the high quality product that was received from Fralin Pickups. The P90s are very clear and articulate while really rocking with a little overdrive or distortion. With the black chrome covers, they are also very beautiful looking. These pickups are the complete package for those who love that P90 sound but desire a little more than what the stock Gibson ones produce. The neck is bold while still sounding clean and the bridge is bright and clear with the perfect amount of natural compression, whether clean or distorted. Fralin as a company really makes sure that you are getting exactly what you want and in a timely fashion. My pickups were received quicker than quoted, and were gorgeous out of the box. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to get more out of their sound.

WOW! I just installed the new set of p-90 vintage on a late 1990s Peerless Epiphone Casino. The original pickups were decent for a MIK guitar, but something was amiss. I have installed LF’s PAF and single coils on several instruments before, so I was looking forward to expereince their P90s. LF’s P-90s are not just great, they are SUPERB!! Each pick up is its own works, but as a reference, this set far surpasses the sound of original P90’s from my ’66 Gibson ES 330. They are absolutely perfect. Very quiet too which adds to the enjoyment of their sound thorugh a good old Vox AC-15.
The covers fit perfectly on the guitar and the bridge one, as expected, needed to be shimmed a bit. So If you are considering getting a set for a Casino, do not forget to add the shims that LF offers!

I bought a set of the Dogear P90s to replace the stock pickups in a Korean Epiphone Casino. I also upgraded the pots, jack, and switch with a ’59 Jazz Gib/Epi prebuilt harness from Tone Man. I recorded some tracks in GarageBand with the old pickups so I could compare them to the new pickups. However, as soon as I started playing the guitar with the new P90s, I didn’t need to compare because they sounded so much better. There’s more gain than before, but there is also a noticeable clarity of tone that makes me remember the old pickups as sounding slightly muffled. To me, it’s like seeing a blurry picture first and then seeing the same picture in super-high resolution–everything is more crisp, more detailed, and the nuances are distinct. I’ve grown to like the feel and the weight of the Casino, and with these new P90s, I notice that I’m playing it all the time.
The only question I have is whether or not the neck pickup should be parallel to the strings. The new neck P90 is tilted; at the point where it meets the neck it is slightly lower than the other side. I’m wondering if the shape of the top on a Casino is a little different than the guitar these P90s were designed to fit–or, if the neck pickup is supposed to be slightly tilted.
In spite of that question, I’m very pleased with these pickups, and I’m glad I bought them. They made an average, low-to-mid-range guitar into one that sounds high-end, makes me want to play more, and makes me want to be a better player.

I did some research and found out that I need an underwound pickup with two leads for phase switching. A day after I submitted my order I got a call from Lindy asking about the direction of the wounding from the pickup I pair it with. He didn’t have to do that and went above and beyond to make sure I get something that I liked. The pickup sounds amazing of course but there are a lot of good sounding pickups manufacturers. The extra mile is what I appreciate from Fralin pickups. It’s my second order and probably not the last?

I use this pickup frequently in the guitars that I build, four in 2021, and one in 2022. To me, they’re in between a Fender sound and a PAF because there are times when those pickups won’t work in a particular situation. I’ve used mine in church with great success. That guitar is on loan as I write this but I’ve heard nothing but good things from him and the members of his band.

I’ve been playing guitar for more than 40 years and I can say without fear of contradiction that these are the best pickups I’ve ever screwed into a guitar (in this case, a Gibson SG). I do doom/black metal type stuff, so needed something deeper and growly; went with overwound option on both. And man . . . there aren’t words to express in the English language just how amazing these babies sound through a high-gain amp. They growl, they snarl, will gorgeous highs and beautiful mids. This particular SG has just been promoted to #1 guitar in the guitarsenal (edging out another SG with Friedman PAFs). The tone is absolutely perfect, everything I could have ever wished for.
And want to mention the great customer service. There was a slight installation issue, due to my accidentally requesting the dog-ears. Lindy called me personally as well as my guitar tech here in Houston to walk through how to sort that out. Deeply appreciated!
Anyway, you cannot go wrong with Fralin pickups. This is actually my third set, after some min-hums in a Firebird and a humbucker-sized P-90 in a Tele. Lindy has golden ears. I am honestly thinking about putting Fralins in all my guitars.

Excellent pickups. I can’t A/B it next to the 1963 Gibson Jr that I used to own, but it doesn’t matter to me anyway, my 2019 Les Paul Special sounds great with these and I’m very happy. I bought the guitar and it had Fralin noiseless alnico Rod P90’s and I like those too (they will go into a Strat) but I wanted the straight P90. The alnico rods aren’t that much different, definitely a P90 but with a prettier, more twangy sound, they are winners too.

I had another well known (sierra delta) company’s p90 set in a epi 56 LP and was never too impressed. The neck was booming and woofing even when lowered. The bridge was muddy and too compressed. I called and Mr Lindy himself spent time talking through what resistance would best suit my amps and desired tone. These P90s are amazing. Not shrill, not too compressed, and not muddy. You can really pull individual notes out of a Barre chord. They clean up great with the volume knob. Lots of chime and harmonics also. I went 10.2k/9.2k B/N and they do everything from clean to classic rock, to metal. Great break up with a little gain and pick attack Very clear and articulate with high gain. I’m sold on Fralins. Good guy and good gear!

I put a set of Fralin P90’s on a Korean made Epiphone Casino. All I can say is Wow.
No comparison. The Fralin P90’s are much brighter and cleaner and when driven hard, the crunch is
unbelieveable. An average sounding guitar just became a great sounding guitar. -
Amazing pickups. More dirt than PAFs, but clean up beautifully with the volume knob. The neck pickup sounds very much like a strat neck pickup with drive/fuzz on and volume rolled back.

Just installed my 5% underwound P90s into my Yamaha Revstar RSS02T. Wow. I was a bit concerned that I might be underwhelmed, but I needn’t have worried. I’m a clean / edge of breakup kinda guy and these pickups are absolutely phenomenal in that space – sweet, articulate and well separated. Wind things up a bit and they also crunch nicely. My biggest problem now is that I’m GASsing for a set of Fralin’s for my Strat… ?
