About this Sound Clip:
All sound samples are played from Neck Position First and Bridge Position Last.
How do they sound? Thick, dark, and quick to break up! Whether you play clean or dirty, you’ll be impressed by the massive midrange and smooth highs this set provides you. You’ll notice the compressed beefy tone and low-end growl, perfect for combining with other pickup designs, like a Humbucker or P90.
You can expect a less emphasized attack as the highs are smoother and darker than our Standard Strat sets, like our Blues Special, which features a more pronounced pick attack. Due to this set’s compressed, thick nature, you can expect to move away from the tone of the Stratocaster. With distortion, you’ll notice a smooth grind that will transform your Strat into a real tonal powerhouse.

It all starts here: Our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control. Our High Output Strat Pickups consist of locally-stamped fiberboard and USA-Made Alnico 5 Magnets.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, and wind each pickup using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique. This gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and to preserve the pickup for years to come.

As usual, Fralin delivers.. Mixed with a bridge humbucker I have a super Tele sound. Articulate yet forgiving. Can handle the strongest pick attack and sings no matter what dynamic of picking is utilized. Truly an artful expressive tone machine as you can always expect from Lind Fralins outfit. Excellent investment for players loving the Tele/strat neck sounds but find it thin, annoying, and weak sounding during performance.
Absolutely awesome! Buying more soon!
I bought the a loaded pickguard with the high outout pickups and neck and middle and steel pole 42 in the bridge… What a great decision a made!
I have a handmade stratocaster that naturally sounds bright and the high output have brought balance to the sound.
The guitar now has all the tones that I dreamed about for so long. Their output can indeed go along with humbuckers easily, but the remarkable fact is that they sound very naturally single coil. They just have more guts and bites. I have that Hendrix/SRV sound that I love. Moreover when you turn down the volume a little they clean up great but they also sound like some strong alnico III/ vintage 54 single coils pickup. You can really get the dreamed strat tones out of these pickups.
Lindy called me to go over my order to don’t make a mistake and understand what I wanted… Wow!!! He installed the blend pot for me (blending the neck and the bridge Pickups) and geee…. my strat sounds like a good all tele.
The 42 pole is full of guts and has a vintage sound. It is great for solo, and rhythm too. The guitar sounds very versatile and cut through the mix perfectly in clean and dirty sound. The treble are very well defined and not ice picky at all.
I have been playing them for a week and did 3 rehearsals and 4 gigs with them and honestly it’s a game changer.
If I buy another strat I would not hesitate to buy the high output again, they sound wonderful.
Amazing.
I had always heard about “Fralin Quality” and had been wondering what the big deal was. With all the hype, I had high expectations for these pickups. After picking up a bunch of parts from the Fralin shop downtown, I went home to wire my pick guard. When everything was finally together, I plugged up to my amp and was absolutely amazed. Upon switching to the Fralin High Output single coils, I found that I was now able to create a sound that I once thought was unattainable. So clear, so sweet, but can also get heavy and lush if you need them to. These pickups were everything I could want and more. I think that it is so cool that a place in Richmond is known across the US for making some of the best pickups! I would HIGHLY recommend Fralin Pickups to anyone who is having a hard time deciding between another brand. 10/10. Major thanks to the whole Fralin team.
Years ago, I got some blues specials from you and I loved them. Ended up with a strat a while back and needed some pickups. Got the high output set and couldn’t be happier. I like the sound of these even more. Lindy, you’ve got the ear for that strat sound.
Love Lindy Fralin pickups! I had Lindy Fralin High Output Strat pickups installed in a 1988 made in Japan Strat that sounded thin and week compared to my other Strats, one of which has Lindy Fralin Blues Specials. The High Output pickups replaced Fender Custom Shop Fat 50’s. What a difference. My Strat now has the power and distortion of my other Strats while maintaining that Strat sound. Very pleased!
I already had a set of Blues Specials, but I wanted to get more mids out of the bridge pickup. So, I installed the High Output along with the ‘magic’ cap. Much fuller sounding than before. Very pleased with the results.
The right thing. Just the right thing for soloing. But does work for rhythm.
Just what I needed! Third time was a charm, for my project strat. Tried two other pickup sets for this guitar. Always too bright and not enough output! Finally dialed in, it keeps up with my les Paul and my tele w/ lil 59. No dropoff when I switch guitars! Nice warm tone and a playable bridge pickup! Love these pickups!!!!
This is the pickup I’ve been looking for years . A single coil that’s open and narley but not bell like and “polite” . Meaty and thick this pickup is for rock soloing and chunk chord work on the bridge . Tight lows and piercing midrange. The neck position I can’t put into words. Slow and wide clipping through any amp as the higher output overloads the power section and seems to make it work at optimum. Never wooly or loose it stays tight and deep on the lowest strings. If extra highs are needed , they are easily dialed in.I have a Suhr strat with the whole pickguard loaded . It is a super strat, no joke . If you play nice music don’t buy this pickup.
