Sound
There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.

Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

Is your Lead Time of 3-4 Weeks accurate?
It really depends on the shop capacity at the moment, and the size of your order. Feel free to give us a call for an accurate lead time. We always try to underpromise and overdeliver.

What pickup height do you recommend setting your Hum-Cancelling P90s to?
Our recommended Pickup Height is 1/8" (3.175mm) on the Bass Side and 1/16"( 1.5875mm) on the Treble Side. Measure by holding the corresponding side down at its highest fret and measure from the bottom of the string to the top of the pole piece.

Cannot say enough good things about these pickups and the help Lindy and his staff gave us in getting them just right. They went way beyond expectations to produce a set of powerful pickups that my son is quite pleased with. They’re installed on a much-modified Jim Adkins JA-90 Telecaster, and they are quiet as can be, with tremendous output. This was my/our first experience with P-90s, and it was quite a step up.
Many companies could learn from how Fralin Pickups does its business. We will certainly be back for more as we tackle other projects!

Simply awesome pickups. Louder than my ceramic Dimarzio humbuckers, yet they definitively sound like single coils…how do they do it?! Sound fantastic, usable and diverse in all positions. I went with stock bridge and 5% underwound neck, and I’d absolutely put this combo in another guitar again. I wanted something overall a bit more aggressive (but not harsh) for rock, and this is IT.

This is my 3rd set of Fralin noiseless P90s I have purchased and, as usual, they are excellent. I currently have one in my Gibson Les Paul Jr. and 2 in my Collings 290 DC. What I love about them is they have that classic P90 sound but no hum which makes gigging with them so much more reliable. It gives me peace of mind and great tone.

I used to play my Tele with stock P90’s in the second position 90% of the time to avoid the single coil hum. The Fralin Hum-Cancelling P90’s were an easy upgrade, and sound amazing. Now I play 90% neck or bridge position and can make use of the separate tone and volume pots I always had. My guitar sounds better, and I can finally make use of the full range of controls and tones.

I bought these to replace some extremely noisy P90’s in a guitar that I bought from a “boutique” shop. The guitar is pretty nice, but the pickups were horrible. After trying to work with what I had, my local tech suggested Fralin pickups. With the addition of these pickups, this guitar is now what I hoped it would be. Fralin P90’s are the only way to go.

Excellent all around! Great tone, great build quality and customer service. This was a neck hum-cancelling p90 for a telecaster. It replaced a Fralin minihumbucker and was just what I wanted (a little more mids, less “clarity” and chime). Matches great with a steel pole tele in the bridge. I got it with a -5% wind at Fralin’s recommendation. Looking forward to trying the bridge p90 in another guitar at some point.

I took a budget Asian Epiphone Casino and went a bit mod crazy! (I love mods!) Bigsby, roller bridge, locking tuners, Plek’ed neck, proper wiring harness, setup, and to top it off, Fralin Hum-Cancelling P90s. I liked the sound of the stock pickups, but these Lindy’s clearly stand out and above the stock ones (wish I’d recorded the difference).
Through my 71 Fender DLR these pickups come alive, articulate highs and mids! As primarily a vocalist, my picking skills are limited, but my ears, my ears hear a tone that compliments my voice and sits in the mix with the band. As a long-term sufferer of noodling syndrome, I’m pleasantly excited with how these sound, and how they inspired me to play more and actually practice!
Anything that inspires you play more is worth the money.

I put a pair of noise-cancelling P-90s into an older Epiphone Wilshire (replacing not-so-great Epi humbuckers) and that guitar just came alive! Great P-90 tone, plenty of crunch when I want it, and ABSOLUTELY NO HUM. This was so revolutionary to me that I bought another pair for my Epiphone Les Paul Special. Just installed them and I’m enjoying pure P-90 tone without the noise. These are great products, and I talk them up among all my guitar-playing friends.

These are amazing. I just bought a semi hollow electric guitar and the manufacturer P-90’s just generated too much noise.
I was really worried if I’d be able to play this in my punk band.
My guitar tech reco’d and installed these and it is virtually noise free.
I walked right up to my amp at a gig and took my hand off the strings and called out to the other guitar player check this out-no noise.
I’m now able to get the rich tone of the semi hollow while distorted without having to worry about noise.
I went back to see the tech to tell him how peased I was and he said I’ve never had anyone say take them out.

After lots of research, called Fralin Pickups and Mr. Fralin answered the phone! Lots of info and got the perfect set for my MIC Epiphone Casino (Worn). FIrst, this good guitar became a great guitar. Amazing tone with a fuller tonal range than the Epiphone P-90pro pickups that came on the guitar with zero hum or noise from the guitar!!! Ordered the raw nickel covers that look great with the upgraded Gotoh tuners and bridge. These pickups are pure, with a bit of chime and articulate but can growl with just a bit of extra gain. Great customer service and what a great product. Highly recommended! Thanks, Mr. Fralin, great job!

Wow. I bought a set of these a few months ago to upgrade a Squier Paranormal Baritone Cabronita. Great tone. Really clear, bright highs, but the mids and especially the low end are amazing. Highly recommended.

Ordered a Hum-Cancel, -5% under wind P90 for the neck of a tele. Gorgeous vintage sound, and does not over power the bridge at all. Completely noiseless even with high gain. I don’t feel I compromised tone for noiseless at all. I plan to order more of these for other guitars.

I’m a studio guy in Nashville. Dropped one of these in the bridge of a double cut and it sounds just like the factory pickup but without the hum. Very satisfied!

Very happy with these.
An LPSpecial is now quieter (pretty much silent/no hum or noise) than a pair of LP with humbuckers.
LPSpecial with stock P90’s was nearly un-useable at any volume or standing position.
The tone is wonderful as well and the advice/recommendations from Fralin were above and beyond.

These aren’t P90s. They are pokey and percussive humbuckers. And, that’s…. OK! Get them underwound, and you have an extremely versatile set of pickups.
