All P90. No Hum.

We all love the sound of a screaming P-90 Pickup. It’s used on countless records. Countless guitarists rely on a P90 to give them that aggressive tone they’re after. It’s Rock & Roll, Jazz, R&B, Funk, Blues, and Country all rolled into one. The only problem with the P90 is the hum – and we’ve taken care of that problem for you. Our Hum-Cancelling P-90 Replacements give you all P90 tone, without the hum. Join countless guitarists and discover why our Hum-Cancelling P90 was our best-selling pickup of 2017.

  • Lindy Fralin Original Design: True P90 Tone, no hum

Fralin Stock Set of Hum-Cancelling P-90 Replacements are like our regular Fralin P-90’s, only thicker, darker, and with no hum.  You can expect a thick, darker, round bottom-end, and a rounder, less aggressive top-end, with a clear, fat midrange in-between. Our Hum-Cancelling P-90’s still have that undeniable thick Single-Coil tone that you love, only with no hum at all. Single notes have a punchy, thick sonic footprint and have great sustain. Chords break up nicely with a slight compression and great note separation. The Output is almost identical to our Stock P-90’s, and they sound extremely similar – just a little thicker in the midrange. Fralin Hum-Cancelling P-90 Replacements offer undeniable clarity and definition while remaining strong, fat, thick, and punchy. Need a jazzier tone? We can use Alnico 6 Magnets. Want a cleaner and more Fender sparkle? Check out our Alnico Rod Version.

  1. What’s the tonal difference between this and your Stock P90? The Hum-Cancelling P90 is slightly louder, darker, and thicker. It’s quicker to break up, and has no hum!
  2. What output do I choose? Our most popular set is the Stock Neck & Bridge. Going with a +5% output from Stock will thicken and darken the tone. Going with a -5% will clean up and reduce the midrange, making it sound more articulate and clear.
  3. What lead do I choose? This depends on your guitar and a few other things. Gibson Lead: Go with this if installing a set into a Gibson-style instrument, where each pickup has it’s respective volume pot. 2-Conductor: Go with this lead if buying a Single, or installing into a Fender-Style instrument.
  4. What’s the String Spacing? 49.5mm.
  5. I don’t see what I’m looking for? We can do some custom work, for sure. However, we’re not tooled-up for certain things, like Nickel Dogear Covers. Contact us if you’re not seeing something you’re looking for.
  6. How far away from the strings does the pickup need to be? Push your Low E String down at the highest fret. Measure from the top of the pole piece to the bottom of the string. Ideal starting location should be 1/8″ on the bass string, and 1/16″ on the treble string, when the High E string is pushed down at highest fret.

I got this as a replacement to upgrade my Hamer Special double cut a few months ago. The tone, balance, and sensitivity is great! It took just the slightest tweak of the pole heights to make it sound to my taste. I get that “whistling scream” from my high strings on solos to the barely audible notes making the best dynamic range ever. Thanks Lindy!

Lindy provides the best customer service I have ever encountered! I had an unique need for my guitar and Lindy worked with me directly to get the sound I wanted. I have no bridge pick up, only a neck and middle position. I was looking for a brighter middle position pickup so it would sound more like a bridge position pickup. The first P90 he sent was not as bright as i needed for this application so he made me a custom pick up specifically to meet my needs. I ended up with a Neck P90 under wound 5% with alnico rods and this pick up has exactly the sound I needed. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!

I have just put a set as a replacement on my custom built semihollow guitar and couldn’t do better. So much clarity, sensitivity and definition! Lindy is really one of a few to take time and answer all your questions helping to find the best solution. Thank you Lindy!

I replaced the p-90 in a PRS SE one. The noise of this pick-up is way quieter but retains the awesome P-90 tone. There is still a little noisy and less gain. But the tone is there!

Only P90ish pickup I’ll use. I love gain and hate hum so I tried a set of HC soapbars (thanks CME) in my Fender JA-90 Tele. I now play it more than my CS ’58 Les Paul! Today I replaced a stock P90 with a HC dogear on a LP Jr replica and I can do anything from country to metal. I won’t go back. Forward with Fralin!

I adore the sound I get out of these pickups. I have a redwood and walnut arch top guitar that my father built that needed to be amplified, not just for jazz, but for indie rock, blues, and a little country. I recently bought a bridge no hum p90, and had wonderful very accommodating customer service. Can’t say enough.

I have a Dean Palomino whose pups went microphonic. I bought the P90 noise cancelling pups and they are awesome. I’ve been playing in bands for 37 years off and on. I have a bunch of guitars with great pups. This guitar, as an arch top jazz body with 3 pups and a Bigsby sounds fantastic. I actually play STP Plush with no squeal on top of Stray Cats, Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, etc. Money well spent!

If you’re looking for P90’s, look no further. These are, without a doubt the best sounding P90’s out there; bar none. The clarity and punch are astounding! You will not be disappointed. My experience dealing with Lindy and his staff has been phenomenal from start to finish. Absolutely the best! Do yourself a favour; try them out. You will be happy you did.

I purchased a set of hum cancelling P90’s to install in my new Epiphone 339. The original pickups were not too bad, but I hate hum. After seeing a you tube video I pulled the trigger (bought them through Amazon), and man I am glad I did. They sound just like great single coil P90’s, but zero hum. I have bought many sets of pickups over the years and these have impressed as much or more than any pickup I have ever tried. I give them 10 stars!

Just installed these pickups and I can finally enjoy p90s – without the hum, that is. The description is spot on. A little darker and thicker sounding, but all p90 tone. Of course I had to adjust from a true p90 to these babies, but I adjusted really quick. Best pickups I ever bought! Thanks Lindy!

These sound way better than the P90s that they replaced in my jazzmaster. Clarity, more bite, and no noise.

Have Lindy’s noiseless P90s on my red ’93 Les Paul Special they brought this guitar back alive from the stock gibson p100s.. They are beautiful pickups & span every style I play from hard rock to country music. And very pedal friendly with no squeal. You can drive them hard. Yes, i know the hum in p90s is part of the deal. I love noisy LP juniors. lol I have Lindys tele pickups & p90s. Can’t go wrong!! Thanks Lindy!! cheers,Benny Landa

I replaced the stock P90 in my ‘98 Epiphone LP Jr. with Lindy’s hum free model. I could not have been happier with the results. My satisfaction was magnified when I received a call at home from the man himself, asking me for clarification on details of my order to ensure complete satisfaction. Amazing customer service! (I actually thought it was one of my bandmates punking me on the phone! Fortunately I didn’t embarrass myself!) As for the product, the hum-free is indeed dead quiet, but overwhelmingly retains the sonic and tonal character of the original – very responsive and touch sensitive! My first Fralin purchase but certainly will not be my last!

Wow – totally blown away with your Hum Cancelling P90’s w/Alnico non adjustable poles. I put a pair into a 2004 Les Paul GOTM along with new pots, volume kits and your “special” caps now the sound is even more articulate, full and singing than I could have remotely anticipated.
I am playing through a Mesa Boogie LoneStar Special, which I consider a dark toned amp, and these PU’s really brighten things up and are able to create classic Chicago blues break-up to heavy rock P90 grind overdrive AND still clean-up when turned down. Getting down to the non-distorted clean range things are just chimey full bodied. The pots and caps allow things to clean up at any volume and the tone controls now really work without any tone suck. You have a customer for life!! I have finally found the versatility I have been looking for…….

The P90 humcancelling pickups I recently installed for a customer are the best P90s I’ve heard. Now I have to get a set for a few of my guitars!

The solution to my P90 dilemma!
I’ve used most of the P90’s out there but could never play them live due to the hum. These are the perfect solution. The tone is there and unmistakable P90 tone, bite and growl…minus the hum!

Wow! Gorgeous. Like listening to liquid butter. Just had these put in my Gibson ES-390. Unreal. The Gibson had the MHS P 90’s. Nice but really annoying hum. Tyler was extremely helpful and Lindy, too. I know where I’ll be getting any future PUP’s. These are fantastic and the people are too.

Zero hum, and I meant ZERO. These pickups are playing well with my Vox ac15, Analog Outfitters Sarge, Vintage BF; Vibro Champ, Delux Reverb, Princeton, and Bassman, as well as a custom made Harvard Tweed reproduction. Some guitar, pickup, amp combinations work better than others. My Les Paul with Fralin hum canceling P90’s sound great into any amp. And no more twisting, and turning around to minimize noise.

Love the hum cancelling soapbars. These made such a huge difference in my LP Special that I cannot put the guitar down. I haven’t touched a Strat single coil or Les Paul humbucker since!

Put this pickup in my circa 1963 Gibson ES-125T. It sounds great, no noise and it fit perfectly. This guitar used to sit in the case and only get played maybe once a year, now I am playing it all the time. I am very very pleased! I play mostly Jazz and Blues and this pickup is perfect for this. The original P90 had an unuseable 60 cycle hum. I highly recommend this pickup to anyone that can’t stand the 60 cycle hum. Thank you Lindy Fralin!

Best P-90 on the Market! I am absolutely thrilled with the set I purchased. They replaced three Gibson stock P-90s and the difference is stunning. The attack is sharper, the body is fuller, and, of course, the noise is kept to a minimum. I’d like to add that I called to inquire about the best way to replace a set of three and Lindy himself answered the question. I just can’t say enough good things.

Articulate, docile, and ferocious! All in one!
I replaced the stock pu that came in my Reverend Sensei Jr. with this, as the original pu sounded pretty good but was very microphonic. I am super happy with the results. I can nail just about any sound I want, as the Sensei has a treble roll off knob and a bass roll off knob. It is easy to get a clean hi-fi sound with rich solid bass and the right amount of mids’ and hi’s. Equally easy to find is great crunch by running the volume up a bit. Pinch harmonics pop right out. Just a great all round pickup for a guitar with only one. Thanks guys!

Great Replacement. I bought your hum-cancelling P90 to replace the original pickup in my 1965 Gibson ES-125T. The pickup was an exact fit. I love the tone and the lack of hum.

Hum cancelling P90’s…love ‘em! Put these pups in my LPS and the sound great! Very warm and great sustain. Much quieter than the Gibson stock P90’s. Very little high end loss and Glorious midrange!

Fralin hum cancelling P-90s are my favorite pickups. Bought them for a backup guitar which became my go-to instrument once they were put in. By far the clearest most responsive low E sound I’ve had. Even on the neck pickup it doesn’t get mushy. Plus they are hum cancelling which is really important as several places I play have neon signs, questionable electric, etc. I can use all pickup positions now wherever I play and get great P-90 tone. If you’re looking for a hum cancelling pickup that has more beef than a single coil and more snap/articulation than a humbucker give these a try.

Ive tried a lot of different pickups–Gibson’s, Dimarzio’s, Seymour Duncan, Lollar’s – but this pickup is by far my favorite. I’m extremely pleased with it and will be purchasing more. Glad I tried it! Has a crystal clear sound, tight distortion, and very well balanced. Highly recommend.

    Awesome, just awesome
I love P90s but hate the hum. I’m not sure how Lindy does it, but these sound like an awesome P90 without the hum. I only wish I had more guitars routed for a P90.
