Hum Hum with 5-Way Blade Switch Coil Split

Hum-Hum Stratocaster Wiring Diagram with a 5-way blade Switch.

Hum Hum Stratwith 5-Way Blade Switch. It features a Master Volume and Master Tone. Normally when we wire up a 2-pickup Strat, we use a 3-way blade switch and Push-Pull Pots to coil split the Humbuckers. In this case, we’re using a 5-way blade switch – it’s a bit of a strange wiring configuration, but you may like it for your tastes!

  • Position 1 = Bridge
  • Position 2 = Bridge + Neck
  • Position 3 = Neck
  • Position 4 = Neck Coil Split
  • Position 5 = Bridge Coil Split.

This diagram shows how to wire up two Soapbar P90s into a Strat. We use 2-conductor lead instead of Gibson Braided lead to wire up to a Blade Switch. It makes the job a lot easier.

This wiring diagram for HSS Strat features two 500K resistors to make everything balance tonally. You would use this diagram if you wanted to use a single 500K pot and make all pickups sound great.

This Split Blade Strat wiring diagram is one of Lindy Fralin’s favorites. We feature a Split Blade Humbucker – two Split Blades side-by-side, and a coil split push-pull pot that removes one of the Split Blades! This gives you fully hum-cancelling SSS and HSS sounds. We also added a Blender Pot, because Lindy loves them!

If you don’t want to wire this up yourself, we offer it in a Prewired Strat Pickguard.

Our HSH Stratocaster Wiring Diagram features a Blender Pot and coil splitting in positions 2 & 4.

This Wiring Diagram features a HSS Strat with a coil splitting feature known as the “Gradual Tap”. Gradual Tapping allows the user to use a Blender Pot to “Gradually” split the humbucker. This gives the player a wide array of tones to choose from.

In this diagram, the Blender Pot allows you to achieve “Telecaster” tones by combining the Neck and Bridge together. This is the “Fralin Pickups Wiring” that we use on our Prewired Strat Pickguards!
