Sound
There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.

Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

What pickup height do you recommend setting your Hum-Cancelling P90 – Humbuckers to?
Our recommended Pickup Height is 1/8" (3.175mm) on the Bass Side and 1/16"( 1.5875mm) on the Treble Side. Measure by holding the corresponding side down at its highest fret and measure from the bottom of the string to the top of the pole piece.

Hum canceling P-90 humbucker
I’ve waited a few weeks to review these pickups as there haven’t been many gigs for me to really check them out due to COVID. After a nice duo gig this past weekend I’m very happy to report back with a big thumbs up. As Lindy says their clarity is front and center. Chords are crystal clear and single notes speak nicely without any high end shrill. At first, I thought the midrange bump was too prominent but I quickly changed that assessment. I think more jazz players should consider these pickups when shopping for a cleaner, clearer tone. Highly recommended

Amazing sound!
I’ve just changed my stock Gibson Burstbuckers 61 to Lindy Fralin’s hum-canceling p90 humbuckers. I didn’t expect such a dramatic difference! Clean sound is bright and even glassy, but when I hit overdrive pedal my Les Paul Standard turned to rage and squealing beast! Such a tone! Thank you guys for this piece of art under raw nickel plates!

P90 goodness with Hum-cancelling
Just added 2 hum-canceling p90 to a flat-top Les Paul and they sound great. There is a huge range of tones/ variability across tone & volume controls. I have a single alnico p90 (no noise) in another guitar – love that as well, but it’s different. Both pickups really perform and differ as described on the website.

It’s only been a few days now since I had my pickups installed. I did a P90 (neck) and Modern PAF (bridge) combo into my Gibson ES-335. It’s the best I’ve ever heard this guitar. The P90 brings out this thick and clear punch that I never had in my guitar before. It works perfect for some Bluesy playing or kicking in some distortion and going full Punk, or even keeping it clean and playing some Ska. You won’t go wrong with this purchase. You can’t go wrong with any of Lindy’s pickups (IMHO). Well worth the money.

Upgrade for Eastman AR371-wow!
Made a dramatic difference in the sound to my ears. The guitar sounded very good with the stock pickup, so while I expected an improvement I wasn’t expecting this. The combination of greater clarity with a noticeable added warmth in all registers. I can’t overstate how pleased I am. Thank you, Lindy, and a very special thanks to Tyler who steered me towards this and patiently answered all my questions.

Just replaced the stock pickups in my 2011Gibson SG with these. Amazing difference right out of the box. Got rid of the harshness and dramatically improved the dynamics. And they are indeed noiseless. A huge improvement! If you’re thinking about trying these, don’t hesitate–you won’t be disappointed!

I exchanged a set of Fralin stock dogear p90’s for no-hums with a -5% in the neck and a stock bridge. The original p90’s went into a Casino Coupe with a 50’s harness and sounded tremendous however I wanted to see if the no-hum’s were an improvement. They are indeed slightly darker but if you take a -5% in the neck it compensates for the darkness, as a fully hollow body neck pickup is already dark. These sound tremendous and turned a cheap import guitar into a great guitar. I liked them so much I bought another pair of stock no-hums to put into an SG Standard with a 50’s harness and they also have made that guitar really great. The only hesitance I can see to buy these is price, and so it was for me, but once I heard them in action they completely justified their cost.

Awesome P-90
I had high hopes for this pickup and they were met. It sounds similar to a humbucker but with more clarity. Tuned down muted low E string sounds thunderous. Cleans are chimey but warm. Works great with heavy Doom voiced fuzz pedals.

Amazing pickups! Put a standard set in my ’90s Epiphone Dot Deluxe and it rips now! Very articulate and clear but they bite when my Princeton Reverb is cranked. My first P90s so I can’t compare to any others but I am very satisfied. My first purchase from Fralin and I don’t think it will be my last.

These pickups are awesome. I put a pair in my Fender reissue 72 Telecaster Deluxe to replace the original, muddy wide range humbuckers that the guitar came with. Along with the pickups, I also changed the wiring. Replaced the original pots with new 500K pots and .22 Orange Drop caps. This guitar now sounds amazing! Clean and articulate with a rich full sound and, of course, because they are P90s the break up great when you push them! The other big thing is little to no hum! I barely used my 72 Deluxe before, but now it’s the main guitar I use in my band. Buy them, you won’t regret it!

Replacing the stock humbuckers from a 2007 Standard LP, never quite bonded with them because they were muddy but the guitar was a dream to play.
This Fralins were a breath of fresh air. The clean tones are insane (and with 0 noise) and reacts very good to ODs, Fuzzes and distortion pedals.I will buy again.

Just what I needed
I wanted something just a little fat and rare in the bridge position. This fit the bill perfectly without adding noise to my rig. -
My build morphed into no hum P-90s at neck and bridge, std wind, and split blade blues in the middle with a std 5 way switch. I am so in love. I’ve got blues, strat and tele twang covered in one instrument (or at least variations of those tones that please my ear)! Custom pickguard & wood parts from Warmoth.
