Split Blade For Mustang FEATURES:

Split Blade Mustang Pickups: The revolutionary design in single-coil sound, without the hum. This pickup is built with a 2-coil design using steel blades for the pole piece. Unlike most humbucking pickups, Split Blades are designed with a left and right coil design, offering a truer and more balanced single-coil tone. You can expect a traditional single-coil tone from Split Blades, except with a bit more fatness and warmth. Split Blades are perfect for those who love the tone of their Mustang, but want to rid themselves of the noise.

The Split Blades for Mustang give you 3-Wire Pickups for phase reverse and a Left-Handed Bridge pickup.

Features:

  • Single-Coil tone, with no Hum
  • Fantastic string articulation, dynamics, and enhanced detail
  • Cloth leads for easy installation (installs like a regular Mustang pickup)
  • Overlapping pole pieces for even volume across all strings: even went bent
  • 10-Year Warranty against manufacturing defects
  • 30-day Risk-Free exchange policy for tonal reasons

Sound

Lindy Fralin Split Blade Pickups are unique: they offer a single-coil sound, with no hum, whatsoever. You can expect a fantastic warm, full-bodied tone with incredible string articulation and enhanced detail. Low strings sound clear and articulate, while the plain strings sound thicker than a single-coil, but still sparkle. Also, adjusting the pickup on the Bass and Treble ends really allows the player to fine-tune the pickup to his or her needs.

Split Blade Pickups will not pull the strings out of tune – even if they get close to the strings. When playing with distortion, Split Blade Pickups sound thick and dynamically rich. Chords have a nice compression on them while single note lines have a much larger sonic footprint. Split Blades sound thicker than our Vintage Hots out of the box in our Vintage output option.

These things really added some muscle to my Mustang! I got the high outputs and replaced the Yosimites that were stock in my 2019 american performer. They go along with the heavier DC punk sound that I need for the band I’m currently in. The company has been great! I had an issue with my soldering and they helped me correct it quickly. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

    Hey Team Fralin,
Greetings from Toukley, Australia. I just wanted to let you know that I recently purchased a second hand USA Fender Mustang with two white LF split rail humbuckers fitted. Am super excited as I will use playing live in our little band and when we next record some tunes later this month. They are superb pickups, you should be very proud of what you do.

Pickups sounded much better than stock Fender. Some people noticed the improvement at our monthly jam group.

Only problems encountered were with installation tech. Pick up mounting screws were protruding above the pick guard too far, and the pick guard was not flush with body at one point due to a pinched wire. Upon return the tech corrected these items, however, he should not have let the guitar leave his shop like that!

Pick ups were great! Finding a detailed oriented installer is a problem!

I put these Split Blade hots in a 1964 Mustang and they sound superb ! They are truly noise free to boot ! And they look great in this guitar !

Unbelievable upgrade! I put a pair of high output switchblades in a fender players mustang and I’m floored. I’m getting extremely consistent volume output from every string – which was a bit of a problem with the stock PUPs, and the tone is noticeably fuller and more balanced. I have a strat with custom shop 69s in the neck and middle and a fat 50s in the bridge and an american tele with stock v-mod pickups and it can hang with both. I highly recommend!

Exactly what I was looking for in my Mustang/DS-2 build.

I read the reviews on this page and then brought the Split Blades with High Output (+500k pots) for a Fender American Performer Mustang. I play indie and rock and found the Yosemite pickups too twangy for the music style.

These pickups have really done what I was looking for. It’s much more of a modern sound now and works really well with every rock/indie/metal effect I’m using.

My other guitar is a Les Paul with Seymour Duncan ‘Whole Lotta Humbuckers’ fitted and I can now switch between the guitars without the Mustang sounding weak and underpowered in comparison.

I have nothing but good things to say. To say I’m delighted is an understatement. It’s great to have my Mustang back as my guitar of choice.

I’m in the UK so it wasn’t cheap. Shipping from the USA was expensive but very quick and professional. There is also the import tax charge (£50) which needs paying to get it through customs and this is separate to everything else.

Expensive but definitely worth it and the guitars now a keeper for life!

I have had Fralin JM pickups and I like them, a LOT. But. Honest to God, these have made my Mustang the best sounding guitar I have. They have a full, thick tone. Even our drummer told me, “best tone you’ve ever had”. I am inclined to agree. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy them again or recommend them.

Bought the split blades with blues output with 500k volume pots and put them on an American Professional Mustang because I prefer a short scale but love the strat tone. I’m blown away at how good it sounds. Such a nice, thick, and creamy tone that’s perfect for the music I like to play (Hendrix, SRV, etc). Handles overdrive and fuzz beautifully (no hum either!).
