Wiring
Customize your pickguard’s wiring by selecting between two powerful wiring options. Select between Fralin Pickups Wiring and Standard Stratocaster® Wiring.
Fralin Pickups Wiring features an intuitive layout: a Master Volume, Master Tone, and a Blender Pot. The Blender Pot delivers incredible versatility by allowing you to combine the Neck and Bridge, for Telecaster-type tones, and more. Fralin Pickups wiring is Lindy’s favorite way to wire a Stratocaster.
Standard Stratocaster Wiring delivers a classic take on the Strat – a Master Volume, Neck & Middle Tone, and a separate Bridge Tone. This wiring allows you to select multiple cap values for a bit more tone versatility.
Custom Requests can be made using the “notes” field.

I would like to purchase the "Blues" prewired pickguard for my Stratocaster but I have a few questions before I order it. 1. What pot would you recommend for the Blues pickups? 2. What tone cap(s) works best with the Blues pickups? 3. What is the stock tone control configuration on a vintage Strat. Thank you, Bobby

Hey Bobby,
We recommend 250K pots and a 0.02mfd cap with our Blues Specials. Most Vintage Fenders had a Neck and Middle tone for Tone 1, and a separate Bridge tone for Tone 2. We recommend a Master Tone in Tone 1 and a Blender Pot in Tone 2 for a simpler, more intuitive, and versatile tone!
I have a Fender Foto Flame Stratocaster. I would like to purchase a pre-wired pickguard and was wondering if your 3 ply 11 hole pickguard will drop-in my guitar? Thank you, Bobby

Hi! I have all my options picked, but don't know enough about the pot styles to make "the right" decision. I'm going with an SSS, Vintage Hot in all positions, stock stagger, with tone controls functioning as tone-neck/middle, and tone-bridge. For this configuration what do you recommend: 250K, 300K or 500K? Thanks

Hi, good day! I would just like to ask if there is an option/special request available for a Stratocaster wiring with the option of having the bridge and neck pickup together (like in a tele middle position) which can be activated through a push-pull pot. I believe this is called the "7-Sound Stratocaster wiring". Thank you.

Hey Doran, we don't have it in a Push-Pull pot, but you can select a Blender Pot in Tone Pot 2. This will allow you to get Neck and Bridge tones and use the pot's sweep to actually blend the other pickup in gradually. For example, if you were on your Bridge pickup, turning the Blender Pot will gradually activate the Neck pickup and vice versa. In the Middle Positions, you can get all three pickups on at the same time. - Tyler
Would it be possible to do a standard vintage Strat Pot layout? Eg. Volume - Neck Tone - Middle Tone? Or do we have to use the more modern layout? Eg. Volume-Neck & middle tone-Bridge tone?

"Great pickups, better customer service! These pickups sound absolutely amazing. The pickguard was wired better than I could have asked, but let’s face it, we know that already. I had a minor issue with the pickguard, they quickly replaced it for me and were incredibly easy to deal with. Unrelated, their T-shirt’s are incredibly comfortable!"

"Just dropped a pre-wired into my old Strat Plus, which never really sounded the way I wanted with the the Lace Sensors. I knew as soon I opened the box that this was the real deal - the craftsmanship is obvious and everything just feels well constructed. I've never soldered before in my life, but watched the instructional video a few (dozen) times and got to work. I went with Vintage Hots in the neck and bridge and a Real '54 in the middle. It's brilliant. Every position is unique, useable and singular -- the guitar feels more versatile, more responsive, more playable. Could not be happier."

"Great tone and simple plug and play Even though I could do all of the soldering and assembly myself, I am very happy to pay someone else to do it for me. My time is precious and it saved me a bunch. The quality of the work was fantastic. Also introduced me to a blend pot on a strat which I never would've thought to do myself. By the way, the steel pole 42 in the bridge is a revelation of awesomeness. Bravo!"

"Easiest Upgrade ever! This is my 3rd purchase of Fralin Pickups. Tele/ Blues Specials...Epi 339/ Pure PAFs and now your Prewired Strat Pickguard with Vintage Hots and Blender Pot. The whole operation took less than a 1/2 hour and took my MIM Strat to another level.Clean Bell-like tones with plenty of articulation at every setting. And with the Blender Pot the Tone Settings are infinite. I've been spoiled....but I'm loving every minute of it."

"I have several boutique Strats and Strat-style guitars, most of them with rail/hum-cancelling pickups that I've used for years. I've loved them and the tone, but needed something different. I've read about Fralin's for years and thought I'd give them a try. I ordered the pre-wired pickguard with the Vintage Hot in the neck, Real '54 in the middle, and Blues Special in the bridge. Also, the Volume Kit and the Magic cap for the bridge position. I was surprised when I got a call from Tyler asking questions to make sure he wired it just the way I wanted it and offering suggestions...nice! When I got this everything was wired beautifully. 30 minutes to get it in. Another 10 to set it up and get the height just right and...my LORD! The TONE!!! My guitar came alive! Nuances and richness I hadn't heard in years. And...no spike...chime, but not harsh. Surprisingly, for single coils, they are pretty quiet, as well...I won't say there isn't some hum...but nothing like other single coils I've played in the past. These pickups are amazing. PERIOD. I'm configuring the layout for my next set for another one of my guitars as I write this."
Best choice I could have ever made , traded my son a Elite Tele for a US special Strat . Only catch was he had to also buy me a loaded vintage hot pickguard with a blender knob for the Strat I was given . Well he bought it , I installed and I have no regrets . That Strat now sounds amazing . Love it , thanks Lindy for such great pickups !
I don’t know much about pickups at all. Most important to me is that they sound good to my ears and how they behave while playing.
For my modded Strat I went from 3 noiseless stock single coils to CS69s after much consideration of other pickups. I liked them way better, but it still did not feel and sound perfect. Fuller sounding, lot of dynamic range, nice attack, but I had a feeling there could be more. There is. In the Fralins. I was convinced from positive comments only and tried the Vintage Hot SSS pre-wired pickup version with plate under the bridge and the tone blender. What’s to loose? I was sure some other guy would pick them up second hand for a good price if I wasn’t happy.
Wow. I am totally blown away. My okay Strat now sings and is taken off the rack more often. So much versatility, great sounds, awesome attack. I do not even consider changing these.
Not my last Fralin pickups, I’m sure…
From purchase to installation: Everything went perfect.
So I totally agree with the previous reviewers. If you’re on the verge I’d suggest to pull the trigger
I called Fralin to discuss an upcoming Strat project, luckily ended up with Lindy on the phone! From start to finish, Lindy patiently walked me through every component in order to get what I wanted in a pre-loaded pickguard. Just a few weeks later, the meticulously packaged product arrived. I could not be more impressed!
From start to finish, a 5 star experience.
I have a 339 in need of some new humbuckers, I know who I am going to call.
In love. I am more in love with my guitar than ever before!
AMAZING!
Picked up the vintage hots with the tone blender knob on a pre-wired pickguard, l easily installed it in a matter of minutes and was off to the races!! If you read this, buy them now! You will not be disappointed
Amazing!
I have a 30 year old Strat, custom built by Rick Turner. It had an active pickup system he designed and built, including hand-wound pickups, custom preamp and 2x 9v batteries. It sounded like heaven. Shimmering, detailed, and punchy sounds like I had never heard before. But the constant battery replacement was driving me crazy. It seemed like every time I reached for that guitar, the batteries were dead. I decided to try a Fralin prewired Strat pick guard with Vintage Hots as a replacement for the electronics – just hoping that I wouldn’t loose the character of the original system. Man, I’m sorry I didn’t think of this earlier … these pickups are just amazing! I’m getting every sound I ever had with the old pickups, plus a whole range of fantastic new tones I never expected. I’m just so happy with the new setup! It’s beyond my expectations in every way! I couldn’t be happier! Thanks so much Fralin folks! You rock!
Magic Vintage Hot
I didn’t realize what Stratocaster sound is until changed my old Laces Sensors to Lindy’s Vintage Hot. Wow. It is not about that little difference in tone that you barely hear. It is a moving from one reality to another. It is motivates to improve your style, technique and even change playlist in your headphones. And there is more – if you turn your tone to zero in the neck position, you’ll get something magical I can’t really describe in words. There is all in the tone. Thanks to Lindy and all the team for completely changing my experience! Pure magic!
Now my Strat sounds like a Strat. 10/10
Fantastic product from Fralin!
I put a Fralin’s Blues Special loaded pickguard into my CiC Modern Players Strat and they are absolutely fantastic! A little more powerful and darker than my Eric Johnson strat pickups, but they retain that vintage strat tone. Perfect for many styles of music, but I’m mainly using them for rock and blues. If you’re looking for great full sounding Pups, these won’t disappoint!
My Favorite Strat Pickups
I have 2 American Strats with Blues Specials….One is new and one has had the Blues Specials for over a decade. Love em both.
