Telecaster 4-Way Switching – Push Pull

Telecaster Wiring Diagram with Series Parallel Push Pull Pot mod

Telecaster with 4 Way Switching Push Pull Pot diagram

Diagram Notes:

More information regarding this wiring diagram:

This wiring diagram for Telecaster features 4-Way Switching, but with a Push-Pull pot instead of a 4-way blade switch. The benefit of this modification is that you can achieve the “Series” sound anywhere on the guitar instead of trying to select it on the Blade Switch. You simply pull up on the Push-Pull pot and it engages the “Series” sound.

If you have a 3 Wire Bridge, you need to modify this drawing. Here are the changes:

  • Neck White goes to where Bridge White is on Push Pull
  • Bridge Black goes to where Neck Black is on Push Pull
  • Bridge White goes to the 3 Way Switch, sharing the same terminal as Red
  • Neck ground goes to ground
  • Bridge plate ground goes to ground
  • Reverse Red & Green on Push Pull

Important Note

In order for this mod to work correctly, the Telecaster Neck Pickup should be properly prepped for 4-Way Switching.
