There are a few ways to cancel out the hum in a pickup. Some manufacturers feature a “stacked” coil design, which we believe leads to a lifeless and dull tone that lacks character. Lindy’s Hum Cancelling P90 features a Side-by-side coil design that is not stacked and attains a more accurate P90 tone that actually sounds like a P90.
Expect a vintage-voiced P90 tone, with a slightly thicker midrange and rounder highs. This pickup will undoubtedly push your amp hard and provide that snarly midrange and top-end “bark” we have come to expect from a P90. Suitable for many music styles, this pickup can scream and clean up nicely for jazz or blues.
Going even further, you can customize your tone by selecting Overwound and Underwound options. By overwinding a pickup, the tone gets thicker, darker, and dirtier. By underwinding a pickup, the pickup gets clearer and more articulate.
Speaking of versatility, are you looking for a jazzier tone? We can use Alnico 6 Magnets to taper the highs even more and offer you a softer sound. Are you searching for a cleaner and more Fender sparkle? Check out our Alnico Rod Version that features Alnico Rods for a Fender-type sparkle.
Our manufacturing process allows us to achieve unparalleled quality control.
Listen to our friend Mike Hermans play our Hum Cancelling P90, only in a soapbar format.
Hum-Cancelling P90s consists of 100% USA-Made parts, including a precision injection mold, USA-Made Steel Screws, and Neodymium magnets. We use aggressive USA-Made Neodymium magnets to make this model scream. Each bobbin is carefully inspected and cleaned before winding.
We wind each pickup by hand, one at a time, using our proprietary “Sectioning” technique, which gives the pickup a sweet, clear tone. Finally, we wax-pot the pickup to prevent microphonics and preserve the pickup for years to come.

How would I match a bridge tele pickup with a hum canceling p90 if the ohm readings are so high?
Q How would I match a bridge tele pickup with a hum canceling p90 if the ohm readings are so high?A
Hey Evan, don't use the Ohm Readings on this pickup as it's a unique design and therefore, ohm readings are useless. I recommend either our High Output Tele or our Blues Output Split Blade
What capacitor values would be good with these pickups? I find mine really bright with 500k pots and Polyester Film 0.022uf.

Hey Bob, if your pickups are too bright on 500K, we recommend a 300K to darken it up a bit. Then, we can recommend 0.047mfd as a cap value to provide even more of a sweep.

Hey Steve, all of our Metal covers are Nickel Silver - not plastic.
Hi! I own a Riviera with three (dogear) P90’s and I’m thinking of replacing them with your hum cancelling P90’s. Which pickup (neck or bridge) would you recommend for the middle position? Thanks in advance!

I purchased a set of hum cancelling P90’s to install in my new Epiphone 339. The original pickups were not too bad, but I hate hum. After seeing a you tube video I pulled the trigger (bought them through Amazon), and man I am glad I did. They sound just like great single coil P90’s, but zero hum. I have bought many sets of pickups over the years and these have impressed as much or more than any pickup I have ever tried. I give them 10 stars!
If you’re looking for P90’s, look no further. These are, without a doubt the best sounding P90’s out there; bar none. The clarity and punch are astounding! You will not be disappointed. My experience dealing with Lindy and his staff has been phenomenal from start to finish. Absolutely the best! Do yourself a favour; try them out. You will be happy you did.
I have a Dean Palomino whose pups went microphonic. I bought the P90 noise cancelling pups and they are awesome. I’ve been playing in bands for 37 years off and on. I have a bunch of guitars with great pups. This guitar, as an arch top jazz body with 3 pups and a Bigsby sounds fantastic. I actually play STP Plush with no squeal on top of Stray Cats, Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, etc. Money well spent!
Wow well worth the money ! I just upgraded to these hum canceling P-90 set .
They are quiet when they need to be rich sounding .
Beautiful cleans to all the way growling dirty ..
I just put these is a USA Artist Custom quilt ..
This is a incredible set perfectly balanced great for all I do , only sad thing is I’ll never put down my guitar again !
I adore the sound I get out of these pickups. I have a redwood and walnut arch top guitar that my father built that needed to be amplified, not just for jazz, but for indie rock, blues, and a little country. I recently bought a bridge no hum p90, and had wonderful very accommodating customer service. Can’t say enough.
Only P90ish pickup I’ll use. I love gain and hate hum so I tried a set of HC soapbars (thanks CME) in my Fender JA-90 Tele. I now play it more than my CS ’58 Les Paul! Today I replaced a stock P90 with a HC dogear on a LP Jr replica and I can do anything from country to metal. I won’t go back. Forward with Fralin!
I replaced the p-90 in a PRS SE one. The noise of this pick-up is way quieter but retains the awesome P-90 tone. There is still a little noisy and less gain. But the tone is there!
I have just put a set as a replacement on my custom built semihollow guitar and couldn’t do better. So much clarity, sensitivity and definition! Lindy is really one of a few to take time and answer all your questions helping to find the best solution. Thank you Lindy!
Lindy provides the best customer service I have ever encountered! I had an unique need for my guitar and Lindy worked with me directly to get the sound I wanted. I have no bridge pick up, only a neck and middle position. I was looking for a brighter middle position pickup so it would sound more like a bridge position pickup. The first P90 he sent was not as bright as i needed for this application so he made me a custom pick up specifically to meet my needs. I ended up with a Neck P90 under wound 5% with alnico rods and this pick up has exactly the sound I needed. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!
I got this as a replacement to upgrade my Hamer Special double cut a few months ago. The tone, balance, and sensitivity is great! It took just the slightest tweak of the pole heights to make it sound to my taste. I get that “whistling scream” from my high strings on solos to the barely audible notes making the best dynamic range ever. Thanks Lindy!
